I am looking at replacing the radio I have in my C6. It is the stock base model radio. I was thinking about getting something like the link below because I know how to program apps and it would be a fun way to really personalize my audio system. Anyone have any experience, suggestions, or thoughts about the below unit or anything like it? First time replacing a radio so not sure what to look for.
those types of HU come in 3 flavors: wince, pure android and android+wince, where I believe wince function is only navigation, while android is for radio/DVD everything else.
Android can be of versions 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, 4.1, newest 4.2.
Screen is usually 800x480, and very recent are 1200x600. sometimes sellers "lying" about resolution, meaning "it's the same quality as 1200x600"
not sure about wince, but comes comes with CPU A9 double core and A10 single core. I believe their performance is the same, but I'd choose A9 just because
there're many of these HUs on chinese site aliexpress.com. It's like amazon, but you really have to be precise what you're buying.
Unfortunately I did not find anything for specifically for Corvette. Fords/Hondas/Toyotas/younameit, but not Corvettes.
The biggest issue besides dimensions to fit into Corvette's dashboard is connectivity to Corvette's steering wheel buttons, so called CANBUS. For other makes sellers either include those devices or (like Ford?) they don't need additional device to translate buttons to android commands and can be programmed within android.
