GMOS Shortcoming Resolved
A single POT on the GMOS04 adjusts both the Chimes Volume, and the Audio Gain to the BOSE amp. The problem is that the GMOS won't remember these settings after a battery disconnect. This means that you would have to remove the HU, twiddle the POT, and re-install the HU every time the battery is disconnected for winter storage, or a new battery is installed. Not to mention the fact that the battery should be disconnected during the install - so how is that supposed to work
?The POT adjustments only apply if the BOSE amp is to be retained. I will eventually lose the BOSE amp, but in the meantime, I have come up with a solution.
I removed the tiny blue 10K ohm POT (seen below) on the GMOS circuit board , and wired in a 3 conductor, 20 gauge shielded cable about 18" long, and attached a larger 10K ohm POT.

I removed the cigarette lighter - great place to install the POT:

Hope this helps somebody.
