What the heck guys have some respect... I posted this thread to inquire from the members of this board about a head unit for my c5, not to discuss something someone else might be buying from a business.

I think he was just trying to help you out.
My impression was that you wanted to purchase one
and he was giving you options and suggestions.

What was your expectations of your post?

I will be selling my Pioneer Z130 unit within the next 6 weeks or so, if you can wait that long. My Corvette is still in winter storage and will not be brought out until sometime in mid-April. The Pioneer unit has navigation, bluetooth, sat and HD radio ready and can accept a back up camera too. It is only two years old and the car is not my daily driver so the unit doesn't have a lot of time on it.
I will be asking $600 plus shipping, which is half price of a new unit.

Let me know via PM if you are interested.

I too am looking at the purchase of a double din unit for my car.
I am looking at the Pioneer AVH-X8650, so I can run what you mention, plus being able to connect to my Note3.
However I am looking at all my options, different brands (like you no Chinese models), and open to the best out there.
Double D Mods, sorry, but no use me contacting you for a purchase, as your radios would be spec'ed for North America, being in New Zealand we use the whole of the FM band (your band misses even freq), and 9Kc's for AM.

So what is the preferred/better quality model to get?

Regards Kevin.
In a Sunny New Zealand, winters on it's way here.

I'm partial to the user interface of Pioneer units over any others, but I will admit that Kenwood has the better Nav itself, at least in the US.

Pioneer also USED to have much better iPod controls, but Kenwood has closed the gap a lot in the past few years.

This is funny.. Op gone silent? Plenty of opinions about double dins... Mark is right a Dennis has some great stuff at a great price beside standing behind his products before and after the sale.

I am a fan of the Kenwood

I made the choice, whether right or wrong.
I brought a Pioneer AVH-X8550BT, so now the next save up project will be to get a Double D Mods surround.
I am looking at them, and see that they don't have the bottom compartment.
Do they come with any mounting kits to make everything fit?
Will go to their web site and see if they have any installation information, so I can see what is entailed.
Will have to see what design and texture I would prefer, currently I only have the standard factory install. So don't want to go over the top, and put something that will look wrong.
Also will need to find out shipping costs to NZ.

Cheers Kevin.
