I have a early 90's Alpine 7914. The remote on and power antenna signal do not turn on with the radio. Any body fix these older units? I could just use a ignition switched input to power the amps, but would like it to work as designed. I haven't had much luck in finding a repair manual or schematics for it.
I would say in it's day they were great, but times moves on and so does upgrades to your old system.
Wouldn't it easy to replace with some bluetooth and IPOD technically, instead paying someone to repair old system.

Thnaks for the reply but I do not own an ipod or anything bluetooth. All the new head units I've looked at have all those annoying flashing lights, graphs, etc. The radio is mounted in the dash with a custom made surround and it would have to be the same dimensions of my Alpine. Plus, the new stuff would not be period correct.

I see your point, but when you replace radio's you have to buy a radio kit that is made to fit your car and radio you are buying.
They still make plain jane radio's, checkout local electronic stores, and even some do the installations.
