Default Advice For 59 Gauges

I am helping a friend and his dad with a 59 Vette that they are restoring together. The car will be a nice driver, not a numbers matching car. I believe they have an engine from a 60 Corvette in it now.
They will be keeping the car, so they don't want to put junk on it just to look good for a quick sale.
I have the gauges apart and I'll be fixing them up and replacing any needed parts. The tach and speedo both have broken needle shafts, so I'm assuming I will need to send them off to be fixed.
Any recommendations of repair shops specializing in these old gauges ?
How about recommendations on replacing them with new ?
We looked in a catalog and see that they are reproduced. Are they worth it ?
We called American Auto Wire and were told we will need to replace the generator with an alternator. This means a new gauge. That means the new gauges appearance could be different than the other 3 gauges. If so, we need a whole set.
Best place to buy a set ?

Thank You For Any Guidance,
Dominic
