I've had HiFonics amps in the past, liked them just fine, and A/B may be slightly cleaner than an FD, but I think I'd go with the smaller one that you can hide easier.

Yea, i decided here a few hours ago to stay with the Pioneer GM-D8604.
Fits perfect between waterfall and partition... and wires easy to run and hide there.. Sounds pretty good... And i like , the no brainer on the gain adjust..[ normal ] matches my RCA VOLTAGE.on deck..-- But still seem to like to add sub boost at H.U.-- I have the LPF on amp at 100.
The HIFONICS for what it is ,, WAY to big...[ size ]
Is there a break in period on this pioneer,F/D Rated amp. As some say amp's get better after break in.. Like sub..

Hey, i got me a Boston Acoustic amp, GT-42-4.--- Love it so far... Its a little big [long] but luv the output sound better than the new pioneer GM-D8604 i was using.. The pioneer was easy to hide behind waterfall tho.. I have the Boston amp in same location... BUT cant hide it .. Hey now im actually getting some base from that 12 inch svc sub i have. [4 ohms ]
If im correct,, i think the boston amp puts out 2 ohms bridged, ????,
Anyone no if thats true or is it still 4 ohms. Far as i can tell from internet its 2 ohms bridged. Anyone know.

If the sub is wired in as a 4 ohm load (yours is) then that doesn't change. If the amp is capable of running a 2 ohm load, that's great, but the actual load is still determined by what you have connected, and yours is 4 ohms.
