JL Audio vs Focal
I am looking at upgrading the speakers in my DD (4Runner) and am on the fence between:
JL Audio C3 650 (front)
JL Audio C5 525 (rear)
or
Focal 165 AS (front)
Focal 130 AS (rear)
The JL Audio setup is about $250 more. But, I am wondering if the Focal is still a better speaker than a higher class JL Audio model? Audiophiles, please chime in with your thoughts.

I have not yet looked in to amps. If I just get the component speakers I would be connecting them directly off of a Pioneer AVIC 5000NEX head unit. If I were to go with the Focal, do you have any amp recommendations?

you will want the Itegration or Performance Focal not the AS
call me and I can set you up with JL or Focal
I would also agree and run them off an amp
if you are going to use the stock head unit then for sure you want the Focal IS as they are designed to worki with the stock head unit

I like the idea of focal speakers, but the amp may not have enough power.
(RMS Continuous Power): 50 Watts x 4 + 200 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm
How loud do you play your music? How much improvement do you want over stock? What model/size of sub do you plan on running?
