Default Alpine INE-W957HD or what else?

Always had great luck with Alpine car audio so that is what I was leaning towards, but crutchfield says it doesn't fit the C6, any idea why?

Next alternative I am looking at is the Pioneer AVIC 8000-NEX... How do these two stack up?

I am not certain of the 957, but I know the INE-W927HD fits. Crutchfield said that one does not fit either. Good luck.

Any standard Double-DIN size radio will fit in C6. Some deeper models won't fit in a C6 unless you cut out a plastic piece that is there to support the rear of the stock radio. With that plastic bracket removed (5 minutes with a dremel) I haven't seen any 2din radios that didn't fit just fine. If you're worried about going back to stock some day, the oem radio will still mount and function just fine without the plastic bracket.
