Let me start off by saying that I'm not well versed in car audio. I've installed some standard car stereos and speakers, but I've never worked with amps or subs before.
I'm trying to plan out a new system for my 1985 Corvette.
Ideally, what I think I want at this point is a system without a head unit. I'd like to put in some kind of hidden bluetooth reciever, and connect it directly to the amp. Ideally I'd want this to drive 6 speakers (dash, doors, and back) as well as a sub woofer.
Is this at all possible? Any equipment recommendations to make this work?
There are a few recent C4 build threads in this section to give you ideas on speaker sizes and sub installs
There's prob a gizmo available for your BT only idea, but I'd think you'd be better off with a cheap single-din radio that has BT as a feature (almost all new ones do). That would give you some adjustments for the audio and more controls in general.

Thanks for the input. I'm really not very familiar with amps at all. If I've gotta put a head unit in, I'll go ahead and get a decent one. I've read up on the speaker sizes, and I'm comfortable with that.
My ultimate plan is for 4x6's in the dash, 6.5's in the doors, 6x9's in the back and a 10 or 12 inch sub in one of the storage compartments. Going to try to fit the amp under the passenger seat if possible. I'm going to do this all at the same time I replace the carpet to make life easier.
In a car as small as a vette, with a good aftermarket amp you can easily get by with just a component set in the doors and a sub in back. Dash + doors + rears would be too much if all were powered by aftermarket amps.
If you want to do doors, rears, and a sub, then you can get by with one 5 channel amp, just make sure the amp power ratings match the sub/speakers capabilities.

Since I'll be putting a head unit in anyway, I'll most likely run the dash and doors from the head and just amp the rears and the sub. That should let me run one 4 channel mosfet amp.
For speaker i would run a component set in the doors and sub in the back only. Amp everything. Anything else is a waste of money. What you would spend on 6 speakers, you could put into a really good component set. Get a good head unit with bluetooth

If you amp only one set it should be in the doors, and if you want more speakers playing you can use the HU speaker outputs for the rears.

Doors it is then.
What's the best location for an amp in a C4? I was thinking under the passenger seat or behind the driver seat. I'd like to keep it hidden if possible.
