Default Backup camera power source

I have a Kenwood head unit with PAC RP5-GM11 in my 2009.

I bought a backup camera and hooked it up to the power wires Cam+/-
(Green/Red, Green/White) wires on the head unit, but they only supply 8v and the camera doesn't work.

If I hook up the camera directly to battery it works fine.

Since the power wires for the camera are close to the AV cable, I want to power the camera from the dash harness.

Which wires should I get power from to supply the camera?

Use a standard automotive relay, $5ish at any auto parts store

There are several ways to do it, image below is almost how I did mine, only since I have more than just the camera powered by the relay I used the interface trigger instead of the HU amp trigger to pull it in.

In the HU power cords, use yellow wire as +12, black as ground, and blue/white (or red for much faster response) as trigger to relay. Camera can use same ground tap, but camera + would go to pin 87.

That will have B+ as the actual power, but radio trigger in control.
