Android phone into the C6 ipod connector - podmode?

I'm looking for a cable/device that will allow me to use my Galaxy phone (Android) and control it via the stock nav unit USB input on my 2011 C6. That is to have the car control the Android just like it can control my ipod, e.g. show playlists or audio files on the nav display, play the audio, etc. I think this means making the car think the Android is actually an ipod/iphone.

I've found the DockBoss which will handle audio from an Android via an Applet 30-pin (while also charging the phone) but the control is from the Android side and not from the car side I believe.

I'm sure this type of solution would require a "smart cable" as the control signals are Apple proprietary and would require some translation. Bluetooth A2DP would be great and there are many adapter choices, but I need my phone linked up to the car.

Ok, did more searching (nothing on the forum). I found the PodMode app that requires fabricating your own cable, going to investigate.

You can get a refurb dockable ipod direct from Apple starting at $89 that can just be left in the car
