Default Setting crossover and time correction

I have the Alpine CDA-7998 installed and am now playing around with the bass focusing, crossover settings, time correction and parametric-EQ. Could someone tell me a ball park figure I am looking for on these. I do not need them to be CDA-7998 specific, but just a general idea of what I am shooting for here.

I have the targeted spot set to a location on the dash just below the mirror. I have plugged in the numbers on the Alpine web site and have the disc to upload to my deck. I am wondering how to set the crossover. I think I have the imaging set ok. Not hard to measure the distances from the speakers to that spot.

Could really use the advice from the guru's here... :cry

Thanks,

I have a CDA-7878 that does pretty much the same thing as the 7998. This is my setup.

Front 18db slope xover high pass set at 50 (be carefull, your mids might not
be able to handle that low of a setting - try 80)

Rear 18dB slope xover high pass set at 100

Sub - not used (using amps xover/q settings)

I saw where you we not getting very much bass, try pushing in the large **** - your 1st setting should be the SUB volume. When resetting the HU, this always goes back to -15db.

Cool and thanks, I will go and set them in a few. Need to catch up on a bit of paperwork first... :D

On the 7998 the large **** does not do anything pushed in..but I do get the idea you are trying to get across to me. I did get the bass back after resetting the HU. I had to go into mode and reset it. There are quite a few complicated settings on this that is for sure. I have the time correction set now. I like the sound of that. My sub is pumping away. Now I will get the bass focus set up somehow  The parametric eq is a bit interesting as well.

On one of my gaming computers, a Dell supermachine..hehe I have THX setup on it. I wish that when I did the settings for the ipersonalize that I could sample the setup somehow before downloading the settings. But it isn't a perfect world.

I do appreciate the advice and am still scrounging for any tid-bits of help that you all may have.

I just happened to looking for the same info. I just installed a 7998. I built a amp rack that fits under the mid hatch of my vert with boxes that hold my 6.5" and 1" Polk Momo seperates. The front has the same set up with the tweeters mounted up on the top of the columes. I am still confused how to make the adjustments. I did the measurements and math but am still working on setting it. The instructions don't make it easy. I am about to call thier tech line for help. They are local to me and I am going to try to get them to set if for me. I have a few k worth of thier product in my car. :seeya
