Good external mic for Go Pro Hero 4?

Good external mic for Go Pro Hero 4?
just got a hero 4 black and the internal mic sucks. I got a Polar mic that comes with a clip on style and a direct plug in T shape mic that sits right on the gopro. The T style mic is horrible and the clip on mic is not great either. I am using to capture good sound while driving and racing. Any suggestions? I am fine with running a mic to the bumper area and not just inside the car.
Here is an example of the clip on mic I have now sitting on the back of the bumper about 2ft from the exhaust. This mic is pretty cheap and not capturing right I think. It washes out and just gets over powered by the exhaust I think it cant handle much db's.
