Backup Camera Question
I connected the camera to the reverse light (so it only comes on when in reverse)and the monitor to the auxiliary outlet. With the ignition off the monitor is still powered but the camera isn't, so I figured there would be no battery drain.
Is this wrong?
If it's like most devices and stays on as long as it's powered, then you're in for some battery trouble.
You can tap the reverse power in the footwell in C6, check out post #2 HERE

Because my monitor has two inputs, I've had decided to add a second camera in the front. I found this write up "Front & rear backup / parking cameras , installation" from Chevy Dave, which requires a push button switch to shut all power to the system off when not in use.
That switch made me change my mind again and just go with the backup camera.
So your reply showing the reverse wire is exactly what I need.
Thanks again, Rick
