McIntosh Amp
I can get a killer deal on the McIntosh MC4000M. It is a slightly used amp at about 50% of the retail which is still almost 2k. Now is it rediculous to put a amp like this in a vette? Am I paying for something that I will not be able to hear? For 2k I am sure there is a lot of other options out there in an amp but this thing looks badAZZ. Let me know what you think.

Re: McIntosh Amp (JWilson)
I have a MC440m that but it came with the my car when I bought it. If I was paying for it I would've gotten a Jl Audio or Xtant amp and added a DVD player or something like that.
Tha mac amp does look great though. I would sell it for $900 + shipping if your intrested it is also a 6 channel amp that is a little smaller but looks the same as the 4000 for 1/2 the price. Unless you listen to audio really loud the 4000m would be over kill. My system is loud with the 440m

Re: McIntosh Amp (JWilson)
It looks like the deal isn't going to happen  SO I am back to picking a high end amp. I really like the multichanel design but need high power to push the 180's. Any recomendations?
Thanks

Re: McIntosh Amp (Wicked C5)
Thanks for the offer. I think I am going to go the new route since the other McIntosh amp fell through. I am thinking about a Braxx amp, I am looking for a local shop to go and check it out.

I think really good amps in a vette is a waste of money. The layout of the corvette prevents real good sound quality. I knew aguy with aC4 that worked at a car audio shop. He had about 450rwhp in it, but left the sound system stock. He said that corvettes are so hard to work on if you are trying to get good sound quality, he didn't even try. Just get an amp to power the subs and spend the extra cash somewhere else.

Re: McIntosh Amp (JWilson)
Well this post is only to toot my own horn as I am now a proud owner of a brand new MC4000M amp. This thing is beautiful!!!!!!! Only thing I don't like about it is it weighs a ton almost 50lbs. The build quality of McIntosh amps are second to none. Damn I can hardly wait till morning to fire this bad boy up! Sorry to sound so conceited but I am like a kid on Christmas.
