My amp randomly started cutting in & out. It seems to only happen at higher volumes & at random times. It's not wiring related. My guess is the amp is taking a crap which would really suck since everything is new. It's an Arc Audio XDi805.
What makes you so sure it's not wiring related. High resistance connection causing voltage drop and high volume and heat spikes till amp goes into thermal

Wiring has been checked. Are you saying the amp is overheating? If that's it, then why would it do it for a few seconds then work normally for an hour immediately?
the xdi805 was a horrible ARC amp. I had nothing but issues with them.
They stopped making them a couple years ago. I would have never recommended this amp due to this issue and loss of channels plus could nto get one for you even if you wanted it..
This sounds like one of the first runs they had and then tried to correct the problem. Whoever you got it from prob had very old inventory he just wanted to get rig of it with the newer XDI V2 stuff available.
The 1100.5 or 850.5 is a much better option and is what I sell for ARC 5 channels now for those who want ARC
