Flashing Third Brake Light
LAPD sells a product for C5's. It wires into your third brake light and when you apply your brakes it causes the third brake light to flash intermitently. The number of flashes is adjustable and after the programed number of flashes occurs, it comes on steady. If you're following a car so equiped, it's really a great attention getter. My question of you folks is: has anyone seen an application for an earlier (1986) C4? Or does anyone have the smarts to make up their own kit? Thanks for your comments.

I bought this unit for the C5. There's really nothing C5 specific to it except for maybe the connectors. If you're Ok with a soldering iron, you could use it on any car just by soldering. Or, use some of those clip on style crimp connectors and you're good to go, provided you cut the factory wires and put this module in series with it.

JT-C5 - Thanks for the info. I was concerned about mounting the module because my third brake light is in my 'rollbar', rather than in the bumper assembly. I'd have to mount it down below someplace and then snake the wires up to the light. How large is the module?

The module I have is not very big at all. The module itself is about the size of a pack of matches. The connector is about half that size. Since you'll likely cut the connector off, this should be an non-issue.
