Radio,amp or speaker issue
I have a 2008 base model sometimes the radio works but with popping noise on drivers side speaker and today I noticed when I push the dic buttons they make that same popping noise when the radio isn't even on. Could this be the speakers are bad or possibly the amp. The radio has always had power to it, but sometimes it will not play sound. I took to a audio shop they think it's the radio unit itself. I don't think it's the problem but I'm no electrical person

In C6 the radio generates all of the beeps and warning chimes by listening in on the serial data line, so if you're getting pops out of a speaker when pushing buttons with the radio off I would say that the radio itself is where the problem is.
Plenty have been changed out for aftermarket, so you can prob find one pretty cheap on the forum, or this is a great excuse to upgrade
