I put in a Kenwood head unit this evening and used the pac roem-vet1 adapter. Everything works fine but the sound isn't crisp like I was hoping for. I know some people say they have no treble out of the front speakers after the install but I do have treble, just not very much. Do I need to adjust the adapter or is it just that these crappy Bose speakers do not have much treble? And is your aftermarket head unit alot more crisp or is the sound kinda "muddy" like the stock HU.
Make sure the HU is putting out a full range signal (HPF and LPF are off).
Assuming C5, the HU speaker outputs go directly to the twiddler speakers, so you should be able to adjust the HU to make it sound better.
You could get new 2-way 4 ohm 3.5" speakers for the doors, that would help
I had already fully adjusted the HU and it still didnt sound very good. I adjusted the little ***** on the pac harness and now it sounds much better. But yes, new door speakers is def going to happen in the near future!
