Can my Bose be fixed?
my 87 vette came with the Bose stereo cassette player. the cassette player has been working but sometimes it gets very mushy sounding like it has a dirty play back head. i took it to a local repair shop, paid $180 to have it fixed. it worked fine for a few days but the problem is back. the guy who did the repair work cant figure it out. anybody know whats wrong? the repair guy said he will give me credit twords another unit. can this thing be fixed? anyone ever install the audiovox unit?

IM TAKING IT THAT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL UNIT :confused: IF SO, THE UNIT IS APPROX. 15 YRS. OLD, WHO KNOWS WHATS GOING TO GIVE OUT ON IT NEXT. I WOULD TAKE THE CREDIT AND UPGRADE TO A CD UNIT. :p:

Skip the audiovox. They suck. Good money after bad. Get a refund and buy a pioneer 4400 for the same price and stop fixing a 15 year old Panasonic(Bose). Plays circles around the stock and Audiovox. Regardless, if you replace, you need to replace the speakers also or get a converter. I'd do the speakers. 15year old speakers that stunk the day they were made and are made of paper are worthless. :yesnod:
