I have a sony head unit in my 90 C4 and when ever you go over pumps it cuts out, over time it has become more frequent to the point it does not take hardly any bumps in the road at all to cut it out. I thought it might be some type of shock protection but it does not happen when I use the radio or cd player. Should I try and fix it or pop for a new head unit the one I have now is about 3 years old.
Just an update I cleaned it with some electrical contact cleaner and the sprayed some deoxit in it and it seams a lot better but still cuts out on some harsh bumps. If I ever get around to it I will open it up and give it a look over and see if there is anything else that I can do.
well the USB port got worse so at some point I will have to try and fix it or pop for a new head unit. I also believe that there is another port behind the radio that I could run a usb cable to from the club box or some other point.
