I've been looking for a 1.5 din. It is bull sht that we as Corvette owners have to pay so much for a 1.5 din (like the pioneer) finally we have a standup vendor like walmart. Can we get GP on this. Com'on we can get at least 15 guys. Who is in for the GP.

Wicked C5 - I have a C4 that I need a 1.5 din for. Do you have any specs on the one that Walmart sells? Is it AM/FM/CD? What brand is it? Model number? I'll have to see if my local Walmart carries them. Thanks.

Hey, do you think I could sell my alpine dva7996 and 6.5 widescreen for enough to pay for one of these. I always wanted a perfect fit, but had to 'settle' on the alpine as I couldn't find one to fit! :D :D :D

Well guys, call me naive if you will, but what exactly is wrong with this particular unit? Have any of you even bothered to check it out before deciding it's not a worthwhile unit? Did you bother to look at the specs for it? Are you so hung up on Alpine that nother else is even worth considering? I'm at least going to look at it before making a decision. The factory non-Bose system that I have now is certainly no winner, plus it doesn't have a CD. I don't need a mega-watt, high dollar unit. I just need one that functions well, looks well, and has the features I need. I also want to stay with the 1.5 din size, so that really limits my choices.

Ouch.... :smash:
I am not hung up on Alpine but it is the best I have heard. I can't imagine the SQ that you will get from that Walmart unit though. I probably wouldn't even buy this for a combine or swather. At least my pops had enough sense to install decent stereo's in all of our cabbed tractors, combines and what not...
It is your call though. If you have a nice vette I would also assume that you would install decent aftermarket components on it as well. That is just me though... go ahead and talk amongst yourselve's... I am a little skanicktadoint in my declempt.

Re: Din 1.5 stereo for a C5 (MY2K2C5)
MY2K2C5 - Sorry if I hit a sore spot..........you weren't even in on the original notes. I don't have anything against Alpine, particularly, I just think judgement shouldn't be passed on other units until those passing judgement have checked them out. Which is what I intend to do, and I may wind up with an Alpine, but I don't believe they make one in a 1.5 din.
