kenwood 893s install
I am installing a 893s hu in my 2013 gs and am wondering what the connections are in the factory xm module. Can I unplug it and take it out there appears to be two antennae connection and a large plug in the middle. can I mount the new sxv300 module at this location? is there a way to use the factory xm antenna?

Once the stock radio is removed the stock XM box is useless. Unlike the OnStar box, removing the XM box has no effect on the rest of the car.
If you have a long enough cable, yes you can mount your new sat receiver there.
Use the yellow antenna cord on your new receiver, but you may need to pull apart the plastic plug to get at the compatible connector.

Solder HU to interface wires out of the car if you can, otherwise crimp on connectors are fine. I usually twist the wires together then crimp the connector on top of the twist.
What interface adapter do you have? Have and keeping OnStar? Most adpters are pretty much OK if you just follow the instructions.
Do you have a backup camera?

I have the RP5 – GM 11, and I'm not going to retain the OnStar nor am I going to use the backup camera.
Where do you guys put the mic for the Bluetooth? I saw the post or Dennis put it up near the existing Mic but I'd rather keep it clean, any thoughts

Follow the instructions, should work fine. Pretty much color match radio to interface wires.
You can put the mic anywhere it has a clear shot at the driver. I always put mine by oem mic
