How exactly do you install a stereo Cap. ? . . .Do you just put it in between the battery and distribution block power wire...and then ground it ? Or is there a trick to it ?
Re: Ok guys...I need some help. Cap. Install ? ? (C5MongooseFL)
NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED AS CLOSE TO THE AMP AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT PUT IT BETWEEN THE BLOCK AND THE BATTERY....PUT IT BETWEEN THE BLOCK AND AMP (THE CAP DOES NOT NEED TO BE FUSED). AGAIN *IMPORTANT* AS CLOSE TO THE AMP AS POSSIBLE! THIS WILL ALLOW FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE. I'D GIVE IT A RULE OF LESS THEN ONE FOOT IF POSSIBLE.
MY $0.02 :)
AND YES! "GROUND IT"! (CLOSE AS POSSIBLE) :yesnod:
Re: Ok guys...I need some help. Cap. Install ? ? (C5MongooseFL)
Remember that the cap should be charged before installation (they usually come with some kind of 'charge card' or instructions on how to charge it) and do not touch the caps positive and negative leads together as this will discharge it.
Re: Ok guys...I need some help. Cap. Install ? ? (ZippoMan)
I got this question answered long time back ... but still got one more question.
My CAP can only got charged up to 10 Volts (I don't have a charged card so I use a 10K, 1/2 Amp resistor ... yep, could not find 1 Amp or maybe I got a bad CAP) so when I hooked it up to the battery, there was not spark or what so ever.
Right now, there's always a constant 12V to the CAP. So will the CAP got charged up to 12V or it just stays at 10 Volts?
