Default Head Unit----long

OK fellas heres what I got. I have a 93 and am having a sub enclosure made to fit in the compartment behid the passenger seat. It is about 4" tall 15" wide and the length of the rear compartment with a 2" lip to support it around the compartment. I am havign the amp mounted on the box also at the edge of the speaker so it should look tight we'll see in a couple of days. On to the question I want to install either a Alpine or Clarion in the dash but I dont want to use a cheesy install kit either so that leaves me with a 1.5-2 din but also I know that a standard din will not fit in a 93 dash but I think it is only the trim piece that keeps it from being able to be mounted in the dash, will a later model trim piece work or do I need a custom made deal? I heard a later model it will fit maybe 95-97?? So what can anyone recommend as far as head units and replacement speakers and replacement speaker sizes throughout the car? I was thinking 6 or 6.5 components in the front and 6x9 3-way in the back with a seperate sub powering these what you guys think? TIA

If you mean seperate amp, then yes this is a plan. 6.5 is a hard fit but doable in the front. 5.25 or 4.5 would be easier. 6x9 is good for the back but if you have a sub it would be a waste. To much energy would be channeled to making bass you won't hear as the sub will drown it out. I'd get coax 6.5 or seperates for the rear as well instead. Make the amp at least 50wx4@4 ohm for the speakers. 75w+ would be ideal. As for recommendations, that depends on price. What do you want to spend and what do you need in the way of parts?

Yep meant amp sorry for confusion with the sub. Should proof read more often. I would like to stay with Alpine for HU unless you have something better in mind for a reasonable price. I was thinking either polk or infinity for the speakers but am open for suggestions if anyone has anything that they feel is better since I dont have a lot of background knowledge on this subject. I should have enough room to be able to mount the amp next to the sub but I have another question is there an amp I can use that will power all of the components including the sub this way I only need to mount one amp as opposed to two? TIA

P.S. Money not to concerned with but would like to keep at a reasonable level this is only for me not shows or trying to show off just loud and clear enough to be good sounding with the top out and windows down. TIA

P.S.S. I also now have 90 sq ft of sound deadening material to install so should I polyfill the rear bose compartments and then use some material in there or just polyfill? I plan on putting 2 layers in the floor, 1 in the doors, and 3-4 in the rear hatch area depending on how much I have left.

I like the Boston Acoustics RX series speakers more than the polk or infinities. They are about $130 a pair from http://www.tms-electronics.com and great bang for the buck. Alpine is a good choice.
