Steering Wheel Controls Question

What is needed to make the steering wheel controls work?

2011 Corvette, 1LT
Non Bose
Using Pac RP3-GM11
Pioneer Avic-8000NEX

I already had the other pac so I just bought the suggested steering controls and it worked perfectly.
