Has anyone put one of those $100-$150 range 10” slim active subs in the false floor? Rockville, lanzar, Pyle, dual all make them. All in the 800-1000 peak wattage range and around 300 rms. (Dual has a 1500w peak/150w rms which seems worthless)
I listen to 95% hard rock/metal and just want a little bit more of “umph” without giving up sky trunk space. And obviously YouTube videos are useless to gauge anything sound-wise.
Maybe down the road in a couple years, a stealth box and separate sub/amp combo for some loud low end might happen. But that’s at the very bottom of my mod list.
I tried a 10" Rockville tube style budget woofer and it didn't do the trick. I think it has a couple billion watts peak power or some ridiculous exaggerated power output claim. It mysteriously has more power output than it draws from the battery.
I ended up getting a budget stealth box ~$70, A 10" JL Audio woofer ~$110 and a Rockford Fosgate prime 500W class D amp ~$130.
$310 for a real sub-woofer set up. Much better!
Save your money. Buy it nice or buy it twice.
