I’m installing a new stereo right and just ran into a strange problem.
Installig I to my c5 the ilx-107 and doing testing before starting to close things up. It won’t let me Into the settings bc it is saying the car is in motion. Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks man I got the parking brake wire and everything worked. Need to just clean up the connections now and start putting it all back together
Did you get the VSS (Vehicle speed sensor) wire connected also? Not sure about the Alpines but something else you might look into is whether or not there's a by-pass available for the Alpines that allow you to make changes without having the brake applied, on my Pioneers there is a way around it. You might get into some Alpine forums and look around if this is something you're interested in doing.
Well, there you have it, your bypass. Also, I guess with your system you don't need to worry about the VSS wire because yours isn't a navigation system.
ok so I just ordered that. So now all I have to do is hook up the ebrake and speed sensor to the bypass instead of hooking them up to the wires correct?

yes, it's a micro relay. fools the electronic nanny
So of course I didn’t retest this. But it worked when I first hooked up the camera.
The camera powers on when I put it into reverse. But it doesn’t automatically switch to the camera view on the screen.
It worked when I did the first test when I wired it to the parking brake wire. Now that I have the bypass on it doesn’t seem to work anymore and of course i have everything closed up now.
deck needs a reverse signal. this shouldn't be one of the bypass wires you use if the bypass hooks up to this. you want a manual trigger for the very reason you stated
Double check your settings, see page 14 of your owners manual.
ok. I think I got it just need time i open the dash back up. Th camera I got came with a wire attached to the video cable. I bet if I attach that to the reverse signal it should work. Wonder why it worked when the parking brake wire was attached directly to the ebrake.
Need to to open it up anyway. Forgot attach th usb cable to the back of the head unit anyway

Be careful on what you hook up to where, you don't want to fry anything. Be sure to follow the wiring instructions to a T.
