From what I've been reading, you'll need something to adapt the new head unit to the stock Bose speakers.
I just put a double din in, Kenwood receiver, JL component speakers in the door, JL Coax in the rear, and a kenwood 5 channel amp. I bought the subthump stealth box and plan to get it installed this weekend when I get home. I'm going with a JL speaker (forget the exact model off the top of my head).
I bought the head unit from crutchfield and bought their adaptor. It should be basically plug and play using their harness between the factory Bose speakers and new double din.
I'm looking at the All In One JBL Bass Pro now. Seems an easier and cleaner install with proven results. I don't need lots of bass.

Thoughts?
I just didn't like the price. I found one on ebay for $399, said it was unused, but figured the subthump gives better flexibility to pick the sub you want. Just need to make sure you get a sub that is made for a sealed box if you go that route.

I built a compartment divider with sound deadener. The cockpit is now much more quiet. I intend to put it in the back and secure it. I'll be sure to keep you up to speed!
Waiting on my double din console from vette nuts right now.
