Upgraded head unit now problem with speaker
I just replaced my stock HU with a new Pioneer unit that I really like. However I'm having intermittent problems with the drivers door speaker. Sometime it sounds great (as it should) and other times it clips, static or goes out completely only to come back on at some other point. Sometime adding volume will bring it back and sometimes not.
I checked into replacing them and it appears we can only replace the 3.5" tweeters but I can't find anything on the 8" woofers.
I haven't had the door panels off yet but will do that soon.
Have any of you guys experienced similar situation with speakers. My experience in the past is they blow and they are gone. This intermittent thing is new to me.

Holy s#*t those door panels are f*%#$n' mother dogs!
After swapping out left to right I still have the intermittent problem. So next I will tear the dash apart (again) and rewire the PAC adapter. It's a process, as they say.
In a way I was somewhat glad the speakers aren't the problem as I thought that tearing apart the door panels would be easier than the dash but I think I'd rather go back into the dash then have to deal with those door panels again.

I just wanted to update this post, not that anybody is following but I didn't want to leave it suspended.
After a (another) call to the fine tech folks at Crutchfield an explanation of my problems the tech determined the problem was actually in the left channel of the head unit. The replacement unit arrived today and I just finished installing it an all is good. Actually all is great. I love this Pioneer unit and will like it even more once I get fully tuned into it.
