I went with an Android unit. They seem to be much cheaper than most navigation radios, though they do have their share of quirks. However, after doing my C5 with an Android radios, all the other cars in my family will get the Android treatment as well. The versatility just can't be matched. Have to figure out what to do about the crappy microphone though...
$299 for harness? Install of $795 gets you what exactly?
It can be overwhelming, but do a search for C5 Corvette stereo. There will be tons of threads to read. Give them a look. A few base items that stuck with me...
The stock HU is 1 1.5 din. Bastard size. You will either need to go single din with a pop out screen or a double din. The single din route will require a simple filler plate to make up the half din difference in area. Browse this thread.
A double din HU is a much bigger commitment. This will require bezel (the plastic surround) modification or purchase. You can purchase a new one for around $200. You will also be required to cut out some brackets on the tower that holds the stereo and the HVAC unit... Or you can have an installer do the work...
There are a lot of ways to skin this cat. Your budget and DIY want will drive a lot of it. Take some time to read a bit. Good luck!

Harness and Metra double din bezel? Seems a little pricey unless it’s made of gold.....
Just installed that with a Kenwood eXcelom head unit, JL component speakers in the door and coaxial speakers in the rear. Kenwood amp and putting a sub in the trunk next week or two.
