Default Battery Terminals

In my 1999 FRC I presently have an Interstate (new) battery that has both side posts and top posts. Presently the basics are attached to the side posts. I plan to perform the Big Three as well as installing a completely new sound system. To avoid disconnecting the side posts as well as ease of access/installation can I use the top posts for the Big Three, etc.? I realize that I also will need to disconnect the side posts when working on the car!

The top and side posts are the same. You can use whichever works best.
