8" mid-bass recommendations?
Full system from front to back all aftermarket for quick info.
Pioneer Nex w/ 4volt - Big 3 wire upgrade - extra battery in rear. Stinger cable throughout
Doors - Old school 2 -way Diamond Audio 6.5" -deadened doors- tweet up top door panel.
rear fill - some Diamond Audio Co-ax turned way down.
Subs- (2) 10" JL Audio 10w3's in sealed custom fiberglass enclosure.
Amps - Alpine PDX 4 channel- 100x4 rms
Alpine PDX mono channel for subs - 1000+
SO... I put the 6.5's in the doors and man did I lose some MAJOR mid-bass.. major gap.. zero punch.
If any you guys can recommend a 8" or shallow 10" that had good luck with (budget friendly.. 3-400ish).. I'd appreciate it. Would love to run the Dynaudios but $1300 is way outta my range atm. I have some Silverflutes for my other build but have yet to try em (6.5" though).. open to suggestions.
The problem though, with going to a sub in the doors, is that now youre going to lose mids since you'llonly have 3.5/4.25s... Why not get a shallow mount sub or a powered sub (behind passenger seat) if you dont want to lose trunk space?
, I'd be willing to try.. but the new Quart or even Diamond for that matter aren't what they used to be 10+ years ago.
As for the trunk space.. I don't need it, got a '69 El Camino for haulin
