Default pac rp5-gm11.....do I need it?

2011 GS with the base stereo.

Do I realty need a "pac rp5-gm11" if I don't care about the steering wheel controls or onstar. It will just be a head unit install for a few months then a full over haul.

Thanks

You can pick up a cheaper integration harness. Crutchfield will tell you which one. I think the difference in price was minimal though - something like $40? I'd definitely recommend the higher end dash control model. I hate having buttons that dont function!!

Go with PAC. I’ve seen issues with others, but PAC has never failed me. It is a bit more Than the others though.

Most people go to Crutchfield by default. They are good for info. For better prices, shop Amazon, Ebay, etc. (Just Google the part number).

I used the PAC RP4 because no need for Onstar, but you will really appreciate steering controls. Takes one wire connection and set dial to 3 if Kenwood.

sorry to thread jack but don't think another thread is necessary! I have a 1LT C6 No Nav, No Bose, I have onstar but i don't need it or want it. Which wiring harness do I need in order to hook up a pioneer double din HU. For now I'm planning on just putting 3.5" components at the top and keeping the OEM woofers at the bottom until I pull the trigger on a 5 channel, mids, sub, etc.
