I have an Alpine TDM 7536 am/fm/cassette/cd controller in my car with a 6-disc changer. The face doesn't seem to be sitting in far enough to keep power on the whole time. For example, if I put it on-nothing, but if I push with my finger on the face-comes on and plays but doesn't stay on.
Does anyone have a fix for that? Also, if I were to pick up a similar model (75xx series) with the same functions would I be able to replace it without changing anything? And would it just be slide one out and slide the new one in?

Yes....Duct Tape! :D
Is the faceplate actually connecting to the HU like it should but just not playing? If that is the case try cleaning the little brass interconnects on the back of the faceplate and front of the HU where they connect together at. If that doesn't help, it could be a cold solder inside on the interconnects. If you are unable to rip the HU open and search for a cold solder then you might want to look into a new HU.

How old of a model is it? Does it have Ai Net? You might have to replace the wiring harness (very easy to do, you get it at any audio shop) but other than that you should be able to just hook up the Alpine CD changer to the new Alpine HU with no trouble.
Thanks for the reply Nomad. I cleaned the brass connectors. It seems that it just does not fit on right. After it's connected, you have to push on it to make it play. And when you do push on it you either get the full display (with every single possible thing coming up on the screen) and no music or music with no display (impossible to see what channel is on). And even then a big bump will turn it off again.
It is the TDM 7536. Not sure of how old it is but it ain't young. I'm thinking about picking up a similar used model on Ebay and hopefully just plugging and playing.
