I have a 2008 with Navigation and OnStar, Bose. I installed a steering wheel from a 2012 that has Bluetooth buttons. I am installing a Sony xav-712HD and the navigation unit that goes with it. The two wires in the steering wheel attached to the Bluetooth button need to be connected to what wires where to make this work? Are there wires somewhere in a wiring harness in the steering column I can connect them to, or do I need to run my own wires to the radio or PAC adapter? Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
so looking thru my 3 Volume service manual I see no references to a Bluetooth in my 2008. I guess it was not an option for 08 so there would be no wires in the harness to tap into. Does anyone have a pin-out for the plug connectors in a year that has Bluetooth? I will need to know for when I do the install of my Sony.

If your car came with steering wheel buttons on the right side the 2012 wheel Bluetooth buttons will work without any additional wiring. The Sony will need an interface adapter (PAC) that supports SWC so you can connect it the factory radio plug. I did this works great with my Kenwood. I use the Bluetooth buttons to control siri on my iphone.

The only problem is that there is no plug in the wiring harness to plug the Bluetooth buttons into.
I believe bluetooth didn't become available in the C6 until the 2009 model year. So I'm not sure I can help. You can try posting in C6 general also. Not much traffic in the audio section.
The Bluetooth buttons on the 2012 wheel I put my car did not require any additional wiring to function. The same white plug that was on your old steering wheel will work.
I assume your old steering wheel had buttons on the right side of the wheel? If not then I can send you some info to make it work. I put Bluetooth on my 05.
This is how I got my SWC to work with a Kenwood head unit.

Thank You, I will take the airbag off this weekend and look again.
OK so these are the two wires Blue & Green I need to find where they go. When I bought the steering wheel it was like this.
It's been 5 or 6 years since I put this 2012 wheel on my car and I had to splice the yellow and black wires from the bluetooth controls into the radio controls on the right side so I could get the buttons to light up when I turned on the lights. that left the blue & green wires with no place to go. I don't remember exactly why I had to do this but I did. I did not get all of the wiring with the 2012 wheel, I got it on eBay.
How do I remove the button assemblies from both sides of the steering wheel? This might have something to do with why I spliced the wires in.
Could those wires control the shift paddles? Did the original steering wheel have SWC?
the wires for the paddle shift are the other two wires on that plug and they work. and yes the original wheel had radio controls.
I really need to know how to remove the buttons from the wheel. My original wheel had a screw that was visible, this one does nor. Do you know how to remove these buttons without breaking them?

I have not removed the switches but I believe they are held by 2 sided tape. You could try a hair dryer on the them to get the tape soft, then gently try to remove them. If you contact one of the custom steering wheel vendors they would know for sure.
OK Riveroger you are correct.
I still had the piece of wire that I removed from my old steering wheel and the black, blue and yellow on the( left ) Bluetooth side were factory spliced to the ( right ) radio controls side so that was a no brainer and those splices are complete. NOW the Green wire that must be the Trigger wire for answering and disconnecting the telephone is......... I need to find the home for it. Since my old wheel had no Bluetooth I do not know where to connect it.
I have the factory manuals for my 2008 but I cannot find in these books where the Pin-outs are listed. They are for and F-Body so i'm thinking maybe the Firebird might have had Bluetooth and if I can locate those pinouts I'd be all set. Anybody have any ideas on where in the manuals they would be? I've looked for hours with no luck.
The way I understand it the buttons they are all connected to 1 wire this includes the Bluetooth buttons. It take 3 wires to have steering wheel controls. 1 for illumination of the buttons 12VDC, 1 for power to the buttons (5 VDC) this power comes from the interface you will need for the Sony head unit you want to install. and the third wire is the signal wire from the buttons that will connect to the Sony head unit.
My car came with a Kenwood and it had an interface for the head unity only that did not support SWC so I had to buy a separate SWC only interface and it works great. Let me know if you need info on that.

I'm supposed to pick up the PAC and radio mounting adapter today. If I can't figure out where this green wire goes in the OEM plug I'll probably run new wires to the PAC adapter. Thanx for your help, we'll see tonight. I'd like to hook this up tomorrow. My old Z28 is my DD while the Vette is down for the transplant.
OK I got it finally. Blue, Yellow and Black go back to the right side and splice in with those on that side and the Green goes to the right side and plugs into position #5. Have all my parts now so looks like I can do the install Saturday, supposed to be a Nice day in the 60's.
Thank You to All that helped me. This Forum is Fantastic!
