Default Question #3

Does anyone know if I can use the OnStar microphone the is located in the driver side A pillar for the Bluetooth speaker in my Sony radio, or do i need to mount the microphone that Sony included with the radio?

I see a lot of 0's next to posts (mine included) in this section. I guess we have no guru's here. Was beginning to think I pissed in someones corn flakes.

No soggy corn flakes here. I've never heard of anyone tapping into that mic, I personally don't think it would be worth the hassle as it would involve cutting and splicing the wiring, which would also be a hassle if, say you sell the car and you wanted to put it back to stock. I just ran the wire wire for mic for my Pioneer under the dash then up behind the A pillar and have it mounted on top of the Onstar mic, once there you don't really even notice it.

Yea I was really hoping that someone would say ya can go under the dash and break into wire so & so and hook in that way. That is why I was asking for pin-out's in my other thread.

I did the same as Madsonp and ran the aftermarket mic up the pillar and next to the stock mic, but I also heard you can splice into the factory mic and use it also.
