I have an old Kicker ZX150.2, which connects to a Single Kicker Subwoofer and a Sony Head Unit.
The Sony Head unit has the Standard Subwoofer RCA jack and Remote on for the amp.
On the Kicker I can connect it with two RCA input Jacks Left and Right.
My question is do I get a connector to connect the Left and Right into one, then connect this single cable into my subwoofer connection on the Head Unit.
Looks like that is what you'll have to do since the amp requires both left and right inputs. Weird about the Sony only having a mono sub output. What's the model # on the Sony,?
...My question is do I get a connector to connect the Left and Right into one, then connect this single cable into my subwoofer connection on the Head Unit...
Yes, as already mentioned above, unless your stereo amp can recognize a mono input, in which case the "Y" adapter is not necessary.
Equipment with stereo inputs that can recognize a mono feed, usually require just a single connection to its Left Channel input. When that is done, then it internally provides the same mono info to both channels.
Since you have a single subwoofer, I suggest you wire the amp in bridge mode and follow the manufacturer directions regarding how to connect its input when configured like that.
