Default Backup cam not engaging when shifting reverse

Kenwood DNX893S. The other day the camera wouldn’t switch On when shifting to Reverse. I can manually turn it on in settings so cam is still getting power and working. any tips on what to check ?

Not sure about your Kenwood, but I know on my Pioneer there was something in the settings menu I had to turn on before mine would come on, suggest you look at your owners manual. Other than that it could be your camera activation wiring connection

Check the "reverse gear input signal" wire (violet/white) in the back of your headunit to see if it's getting power when you engage reverse.
