So..sounds better but bass sux..of course..so now maybe ill start backwards and add a sub in the corner and an amp..run a power distribution block for pos and neg..saw thgat on car fab vids..then i can upgrade everything else later..
Any ideas? Going to put sub in corner cubby.
And...vettnuts is the only one thats makes one..expensive and 1 to 2 month wait time..oh well
Guess its sway bars
Not true. You can get the NVX kit here: I have it, mainly for the box as the nvx sub came with it is pretty meh, but good enough for price until you want to change it. I happened to blow mine as I had chose an amp with more power than sub was rated for. But the box fits and looks great.
Yup..and now I've decided that I really can't go high end with all this..too many other things. So my install at this time will be to return and swap the head unit for the CDE-149BT which has much more tuning capacity. Focal 165AS for the doors and then I'll work on a sub.
Would really like to go double din but the its over 1K to do it even half right as the bezel is almost 400.00..I don't like the Metra..Vettenuts has the best one. So I think this will hold me for a while. I just don't like the 3.5's and Bose in the doors..Eventually a 5 channel amp.
Don't sleep on Dayton Audio man. Super affordable, but NOT cheaply made. These two were only $48 to my door. Find them here; https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...eaker--295-309 (Do yourself a favor and look at the spec sheet, mainly the freq response graph. Notice they are almost as good as Focals top of the line.) Especially if you plan on running active later. These will hang with most ANY 4 ohm speaker out there. I ran them in my setup for a few months and they sounded pretty damn good. I only swapped them out because I needed a 2 ohm speaker for more power (VXi is not 2 ohm bridgeable) and found a screaming deal on Focal KX2s.

BTW, they absolutely RIP for such a cheap speaker. The guys that I hang with (all crazier audiophiles than me) can't tell that they're listening to a $25 speaker.
I popped for the Focals and the HU upgrade..what the hell..its like my watches..Timex tells the same time as my Omega and Ball Hydrocarbon..but I like them better...LOL
And found a great post as to mounting the tweeters on the lower part of the plate..gives a lot of room to mount the xovers where the tweeter would normally sit
One of those powered slim subs for behind the seat on the deck? JL makes a decent 10 inch one..don't know how it would compare to the vettnutts one..only 500 bucks though. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_136933...W1.html?tp=114
That is a superb sounding sub. I have two of them in my truck (sealed 10TW1-2s on 300W RMS) and they sound great. Super precise, great for hard rock and metal. I unfortunately don't know how they would sound in a corvette though. I don't think one will be enough to scratch your itch though bro...I really don't. Consider 2 of those minimum.
