Hmmm. Well once I get the new Hu and focal put in. I’ll tune them up and decide. Really like the Vette nuts corner design. Looks like they come with the car.
But these would be easy to do.
Deciding if I want to Biamp the focals off the power pack amp and just ditch the rears
For my 2000 FRC, it was an easy decision to have a sub box mounted directly behind the seats and just forward of the trunk. It acted as a solid partition and sealed in the sound all together.
After perusing Ebay, I scored two Audiobahn AWT10X Pro-compression Subs at $200 each and an MTX 1201(D) Amplifier. Paid some guy like $200 for a sub box and wiring and it was literally insane OVERKILL.
(But I liked it).
Even with my Pioneer Deck set with Sub bass at -15 (Yes, negative 15) it was overwhelming the audio itself. I couldn't even "increase" the bass to a -10 or good grief "0".
This time around, I opted for two JL Audio 10W6v3-4 and a JL Audio HD 1200/1 amplifier. But I have yet to install these. But I scored a KILLER DEAL on buying both about 10 days before Xmas and saved over $500 from a highly reputable seller on Ebay who needed money for Xmas presents.
I am just holding out to see if I install in the C6 Z06 or a new Daily Driver. or...I am just lazy to do anything.
The way i should really do it is a 5 channel amp..the focal amp looks killer.. and the vettnuts subs..but thats another 1700.00. As opposed to the jl box at 500.00..
Oy..now i remember why i had to back off on audio..wallet killer
So on another note..how much do you think the cloth on the back of the front grills affects sound..if i rip them off then i have to paint the new speaker adaptor plates which are tan and will really show through..but if i have to..and these plates are really well made..from southern car parts.
My 92 had friggin carpet covering the front pods..which was ridiculouse..had to completely fab those up .
I'm not a fan of ditching the rears, especially if you're already underpowered.
Driving around i faded to the back..sounded terrible..faded to front then center and i cant hear the rears..
Maybe when i finaly add a real amp tjis will change..who knows
What speakers do you have back there? Also, they wont sound good. They're "fill" speakers. I use mine to "fill" the dips I have in the curves I am looking for. Particularly in my car on the target curve, I have a nasty dip in the 120 hz range which is mid-bass frequencies. I set my rears to "fill" that gap. They DO matter.
Control of tuning is not "tuning." You have to have measuring equipment to tune a system. Those that say they can "tune by ear" are selling snake oil. It simply is not possible. I mean I suppose if the app uses your phone, it's better than nothing...but it won't do time alignment effectively, nor will your EQing be very accurate.

Better than nothing..it will do time alignment. When I had my old Pioneer Pioneer DEH-80PRS..that had the best EQ and settings ..too bad it doesn't support XM.
Once the whole thing is done I'll see about finding a good shop..Sound Incredible Mobile in CT is a good one..the car stereo chick owns it. I'll get it tuned then. Not before I get a sub. That Jl is looking good for now. http://www.soundsincrediblemobile.com/?page_id=118
