They might a tad. I have the Infinity SM series speakers which are extremely efficient. The front speakers are SM-152s and are 102 db efficient. The center channel is quite loud too as it has two 6.5" speakers along with the same tweeter as the mains. The surrounds are JBL SP8II with a 8" woofer and 1" tweeter. I also have a set of SM-82 that I'm thinking of running up front too as I have free amplifier channels. My goal was to have a system that has bass like my cars/truck do.
Just one of my C5s. In it I have the Infinity Perfect series speakers and JBL amps. Two sets of the 6.1s up front and three 12" subs in rear. Total wattage is 1920 rms.

I seem to remember sitting in this car listening to that outrageous system..

How is it going?

Yeah, that was a good get together in Chicago land. Haven't heard from Keith (Wiz) in a long time.
Things are going well, moved into a new house 1.5 years ago so now I have plenty of garage space to mess around in (4 car attached and 1250 sq ft detached). I currently have three C5s, the blue 02 you sat in, and two 99s. One 99 (black) has near a stock system, only addition is a JL Audio 500 watt amp and a TW5v2 subwoofer. But, that system sounds way better than the other 99's (red) system which has upgraded speakers and head-unit (Kenwood DNX690HD in a DD Mods console). It must still use the stock amps and 8' woofers and it sounds like crap. I'll be working on it this winter. Thinking of putting in Infinity speakers in the front, JL Audio C2s in the rear, two JL Audio amps, and two JL Audio 10" subs.

Man, how do you like that TW5v2? I'm about to put 2 of them on 1,000W RMS in my ZO6. Looking for some honest feedback. Too much, too little? Just right?

Frankly, I'm very disappointed in it considering the cost. I'm giving it it's max wattage (500 watts rms) and it's just not that loud. It sounds okay, no distortion my ears can register. I had an Infinity 10" subwoofer on 300 watts rms in a different C5 and it out preformed the TW5v2.
Two of them would sound good, but honestly, for the price you can do better.

My box might be a little smaller than recommended but the amp is set up correctly.

We should chat man...I may be able to help get more output out of it. I also know that firing a shallow upwards in a corvette is NOT ideal. Down firing is the way to go. What is the space size?

If I remember correctly, it was like .85 cubic ft opposed to the .8 JL recommends. This did not include the woofer displacement but the TW5v2 really doesn't take up too much. I thought about stuffing with some poly-fill but haven't.

Don't stuff it with polyfill...that will make the box behave like it's bigger. But a half a tenth shouldn't matter that much. This is odd man. You're the first person I've ever heard say the "T-dub" doesn't absolutely hammer. I've auditioned 2 of them now, and they both sounded awesome and gave me the impression they are plenty capable. I listened to the last one (on New Years AAMOF) a single TW5V2 on only 300W, and it sounded beautiful. They are for sure "musical" subs, not "lets push out 140db" subs. I wonder...if you got the newest version? Did you buy it new or on eBay?

New, from a local dealer.

Getting a little more done in my limited spare time. Left side components are sound checked and found out I had made mistakes wiring (damn Pioneer uses "rec" and "play" instead of "in" and "out") my cassette deck to receiver. Also found one rca connector from the Direct TV converter not plugged in all the way to the receiver (Knukonceptz rca cables have TIGHT connectors, lol). Anyway, here are a couple of pictures.

The 15" woofer looks small next to those 21" subwoofers
Also found out the top subwoofer cabinet moves a lot, even at moderate volume. That surprises me as the cabinets are HEAVY. I'm going to have to rig up something to prevent the moving, thinking a board screwed into the backs of the cabinets. Any other ideas?

Either a thin rubber or silicone mat...or velcro...or double sided tape.

Ooooo, good idea. I have some "Industrial strength" Velcro sitting around I could use. That would be way easier than my idea.

Sticking Velcro strips to your beautiful cabinets could damage their finish... The thin anti-skid silicone mat might be a better idea

Just saw this thread. Very nice work, thanks for sharing.
I am laughing @ your tube tv and cassette deck, good on you keeping the old stuff going!

I went a different way for big bass, installed 4x18" FI car audio subs in an infinite baffle in the attic. Driven by a similar pro amp, around 3k watts I believe

Zero footprint, very high WAF, just looks like an AC vent in the main room

The top of the lower cabinet and the bottom of the upper cabinet are unfinished so no damage. But you are right, the thin anti-skid silicone mat is probably a better idea. Last night I did the Velcro on the left side cabinets and what a PAIN IN THE AZZ it was to line up. That Velcro would grab and then we had to break that seal to move it again. The cabinets are very heavy, maybe 130 lbs each. Finally got it very close to perfect and then noticed it leave a gap between the cabinets which is no big deal to most but it bugs me. I'll try the anti-skid mat on the right side cabinets and if it works, I'll remove the Velcro on the left side cabinets and replace with the anti-side mat.
Thanks!

Yeah, I still listen to cassettes from time to time. I have like 600 recordings on cassettes and well over a 1000 CDs. (I used to DJ a LONG time ago). As for the TV, "if it anit broke..."

Nice!
I didn't have that option as my system is in the basement and the ceiling is finished. Besides, no way would those 21" subwoofers fit between the floor joists.
