I agree with all the reasons listed. I stated it was dynamat that had a big hand in making the 10" sound as good as it did. No vibration or rattle whatsoever. 100 wrms dedicated power to each speaker. Did not use it as a sub, only midbass, I think I settled for 60 hz to 300 hz. I did play around with 40hz, but decided to let the rear 12" subs handle that. I am going with the same thing in my C7. Just putting my experience here. Don't get me wrong, I have the means of getting better speakers, but I didn't see the need to with the results I got from the MB Quartz, that said, if someone handed me a Focal ES 165KX3 Elite K2 Power Series 6-1/2" 3-way component speaker system, I would put those in in a heart beat. , but again, I don't think my midbass would sound any better.

Mounted on a wood baffle and with sound deadening you can make the door very dead.

Depends on how thick the wood is, but generally, yeah...that's correct.
