The measurements of the enclosure are almost exactly the right size to fit under the convertible top storage at the front of the trunk - it will protrude 3-4 inches into the main trunk area but if the tape measure is not lying I should be able to fit my carry-on luggage or golf clubs with no problems when done. Further - if needed I bought enough amp power to drive a second one if it fits like I hope. The distance between the wheel wells is 43.5 inches and this enclosure is 19 1/8" wide each. I will update on how it goes but it seems like it may be as close to a custom fit as possible without the JBL custom fit price tag.
I'm pairing it to an NVX amp partly for the smaller form factor and CES rated power.
I think you may be misunderstanding where I am planning to put them - Face Up in the trunk between the wheel tubs, under the roof in the area under the rear trunk divider. I suspect I will end up taking the divider out and rigging the switch but the space looks large enough exactly. I will then keep the rears and the factory divider and just loose that section of trunk space.
Madsonp setup is super beautiful though and I wish I had seen he was shipping some out to members before I ordered. That said - I will have some really nice shallow woofers and amp ready for the next project if it does not go as planned.
A couple of cardboard scale mockups while we wait.
Test fit of the Amp under the waterfall. Wires will make it tight. Sub mockup on passenger side trunk. (I I ordered two) Sub mockup on driver side of trunk. These are very very snug but i am hopeful it will work out perfect. Golf clubs and carry on luggage still allowed.
ah. that makes more sense now. hopefully the sound is not muffled when you have the top down.
I have heard of that being an issue from others who have mounted them in the trunk in this, and other fashions, that's why I decided to go with my front firing design to eliminate that potential.

Be sure to keep us up-dated, I'll be interested in how it all turns out.
This is working out better than I imagined and I can't wait for the amp to arrive. Only one of the subs came today so I quickly moved to test fit and it fits like a glove. Now if I can just get my amp and second sub....
Rockford Fosgate Punch P3S-1×10 is a custom fit c6 Vert 10inch application with a mass electronic price..
More updates once we get them lit up.
Unpacked from FedEx. This may just fit. The tape did not lie. It fits like it was made to go here.
I think my concern would be the movement of the speaker impacting the roof, but at the angle of the photos, I can't see if it could be an issue or not.
Not a concern. Trim ring is an inch deep and is not touching anything.

It's safe. Nothing is touching and the trim ring allows for more than the woofer throw. I'm actually a little shocked how good this looks.
So the rest of the shipment arrived and I have the test fit for the amp completed. I made a little bracket for the amp and it fits nicely in the waterfall. Have a look. Bracket completed bracket attached to factory xm reciever bracket back of it all together with amp installed on bracket Front view In the car. Behind the waterfall
