I am having a kenwood headunit and backup cam installed soon and wanted to install a subwoofer and an amp. I do not want to dig into replacing other speakers at this time. Ive done some research but cannot figure out what route to take.Leaning towards a dual subthump partition box. Basically looking for options for an amp and subwoofer(s) without spending a ton of money. For the amp what type would i need to power the 2 subs, 2,4,5 channel?.(I am clueless when it comes to the ins and outs of car audio)
i have a 06 c6 base 3LT z51

I think going with twins while keeping the stock speakers would be overkill. A good single 10 amped properly will give you plenty of bottom end without drowning out the mids and tweeters. It will also save you needed rear space.
I suggest one of the thin powered subs like the JL 10". It will fit under the top when you store it. You can then replace the other speakers at a later time and add another small amp. https://www.jlaudio.com/collections/...-systems-93334

This thing is a beast. However, you will eventually want to update the speakers and get a four way amp to keep up with that high end sub. Set a budget and check the reviews on this page: LINK
