Getting ready to install a Kenwood DMX957XR this coming weekend.
This unit is just a digital media receiver. No DVD and no NAV. It does have CarPlay and Android Auto,
Does this unit need a parking brake bypass to access all features while moving?
It seems like its needed on units that have those features to use them while moving, but not sure on a unit without it.
You don't need to buy a bypass you just need to wire it that way. What you need is a PAC harness so you maintain steering wheel controls. It will kick on the rear camera when you back up so you can wire the radio parking brake wire to the ground. It's cool playing music videos for the wife while I'm spiritedly driving the Vette she's distracted.
