Poor Radio Reception
Needing help...
I purchased a Kenwood DDX9906XR head unit to install in my 2011 GS with Bose. Installed the Pac RP5-GM11 interface to retain the steering wheel controls. Also installed front and rear cameras which I powered from the head unit and not from the back up lights or somewhere up front for the front camera.
All worked fine except the FM & Am radio reception. With my OEM head unit I receive 22 FM stations while sitting in the garage. With the Kenwood, I only receive 7 FM Stations. All of the stations are Analog and none are Digital. This also effects the HD radio as it is Digital and none of the stations will play on the HD.
After a lot of searching and help from the Tech's at Crutchfield, we determined that it was the head unit. New unit was sent and installed. Same problem. Everything else works fine except the radio reception.
Am open for suggestions as I have a top of the line head unit that I am unable to use at this time...

I had a similar problem when I did mine. It had something to do with the antenna adapter. I replaced it and it started working fine. Not sure if the the original was bad or just not making a good connection. Since it was working with the 2nd one, I decided not to troubleshoot and risk breaking it again.
