I have read all I could find concerning this but can't find a specific answer I need. I have a '05 vert that I put a new Kenwood Excellon in recently. I am now getting ready to upgrade the steering wheel to an '08. I have purchased the air bag, the clock spring and the wheel is on the way. When I installed the Kenwood I also installed the Crux SOCGM-17C Wiring Interface. Today I contacted Crutchfield to see if I needed a different or additional adapter to gain steering wheel controls. The Tech said I needed to install the PAC SWI CP2 interface. Here's my question. Does this take the place of the Crux or do I somehow have to wire in the PAC in addition?
Personally I'd do what Vince mentions, get rid of the Crux unit and just buy the PAC RP5-GM11 which has everything in one unit which'll save on space behind the head unit, and only cost about $50 more.
I ordered it from amazon last night. Now I think I still have to run the three extra wires? The blue, green and the yellow to match up with the connector on the new clock spring.

Actually the red, brown, and purple is what I did on my 05, these were the instructions I used if you haven't already seen them. They were written for wiring up to a newer stock nav unit but they worked just fine with my Pioneer system. I did a couple things slightly different on mine that you can read about here starting on post #9. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html
Didn't realize there was an exact twin here!! I have changed a few things since that pic. New wheels and blacked out the tail lights as well as the side markers with LED's!
Encountering a slight problem. I cannot find the Delphi 12146447 female terminator you had on your list. I went to the website you had but can't find them there either. I found them on Amazon but can't get them until the 14th of August!! Also found them on another site but minimum quantity was 6,000! Know of any place I can get a small order and within the next few days??

I installed a 2010 steering wheel in my 05. Connected it to a kenwood head unit the steering wheel controls work including the phone buttons on the left. I used this https://maestro.idatalink.com/produc...product_id/101 to connect the radio to the steering wheel controls nice update.

You don't need that if you have the PAC RP5-GM11, the PAC RP5-GM11 has the steering wheel control functions and connections integrated in it already, so no additional modules are needed. With either one however, you still have to run the 3 additional wires.
Yea, I was just curious. I'm still waiting on the wire connectors from Amazon. They are getting awful with their shipping. I found them as Prime so figured I'd have them in a couple days. Got notice they won't be here until Tuesday or Wednesday. So I decided to do my calipers while I wait.

Yep, you should have ordered them from Mouser, you would have had them in two days, they ship the same day you order.

I used this device because the car came with the kenwood already installed using the Crux interface. Since the Crux I had did not support the steering wheel controls I used the Mastro device only cost $50 and works great. I would have considered the pac rp5-gm11 but saved $50 keeping the crux.
