Replace C5 Coupe Rear Speakers
Hi,
I replaced the rear speakers on my C5 with JBL GX602 (6½"), when I was trying to remove the top screw on one side I heard a crunch. Long story short the new JBL Twiddlers are in but only 3 hex bolts only one speaker in. I was gentler on the passenger side. Any issues? Should I mount some cushioning material with doubled sided tape on the top portion?

Did you damage the threads? Will the fastener not screw in? What was the crunch? Yes, you won't hurt anything by only running 3 screw, and it would be a good idea to stick that corner down with some dynamat or something (if you can't get the screw in).

Snapped the fiberglass/ plastic where it screws in. I have dynamat and repaired it today. It is now snug where the lip broke off. All is good
