I've got an interesting issue that has been going on for awhile now. When I'm driving my '19 Z06/Z07 M7 around town I repeatedly get a burst of static over the radio. It happens when I lift my foot off the dead pedal and move it over to push in the clutch. I'm always streaming music from my phone via bluetooth or Android Auto and I get a burst of static on both. The playback has actually stopped a few times because of the static burst. It's especially bad if I slide my foot off the dead pedal to the clutch. If I lift my foot off the dead pedal, wait a few seconds, then move to the clutch there's usually no static burst.
I bought her new a little over a year ago, she's got ~14k miles on the clock and this has been going on all summer. I've checked the dead pedal and the soles of my shoes, but nothing looks out of the ordinary. My best guess is that it's static electricity between my shoe and the dead pedal that's causing the issue. The charge builds up between my shoe and the dead pedal, then when I move my foot over to the clutch, the clutch pedal grounds it out the static charge and I get the burst of static.
It's been hot and dry here, 90's or higher with the humidity in the 'teens in the afternoons. Having the AC going full blast helps to dry out the car's interior even more, a perfect environment to develop some static electricity. Any thoughts on what the cause of the static might be and how to eliminate it?
All stock? Details of your connection (IE Bluetooth, carplay??)...
The car is bone stock. I get this issue with Bluetooth and when it's plugged into the center console USB port and using Android Auto.

No **** floor mats but that's a good thought, @VinceC5. I did install Weather Tech all weather floor mats, which are rubber. I put those in over a year ago and I didn't have this issue last summer, so it never occurred to me that they might be part of the problem. I'm going to pull out the driver side floor mat and see if that fixes the issue.
I've also noticed that I only get the static burst when the outside of my shoe brushes up against the side of the foot well as I move my foot to the clutch. If I manage to not brush the foot well, I don't get any static. Not an easy feat with my size 13's and the tight confines of a C7.
That's just the Amazon listening device that's standard for all new products. If you keep doing it you will dealt with for interfering with their surveillance... Er, customized experience.

My .02.....HMI module is located above and to the left of the dead pedal. Might have something to do with a connection there. That's where I'd start...
I think the mystery has been solved. Several warning alerts popped up on my dash a few weeks ago, service this, that and something else. I had her towed to the local Chevy dealer and they investigated the issue. Looks like some rodents thought my Z's wiring harness was tasty and had a snack, or three. The dealer repaired the wiring harness and I haven't had this issue since the repairs were done. Lets hope the dealer found all the damage and repaired it.
